Community Involvement
The firm is community oriented. Consider the following:
Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Award Finalist in 2004 and 2005.
Member in good standing of the Melbourne-Palm Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and BBC- Volk Law Offices, P.A. is a member in good standing with the Chamber and The Better Business Council.
Community Events - Volk Law Offices, P.A. has helped to support or participated in the following community events and causes throughout the past year:
1. Sponsored this year's Chamber Lunch and Learn Series in July, and David Volk spoke on the topic of Communication/Listening/Negotiation Skills. David Volk and Mike Dujovne presented a two hour Chamber Seminar on Real Estate - Contracts, Closings and Litigation in 2004.
2. David Volk is listed as a speaker with and he spoke at the New Venture Clinic for the Florida Small Business Development Center on the topic of Starting Up Your Florida Business: After You Form the Business, and at the Palm Bay Rotary Club on the topic of Business Contracts and Urban (Legal) Legends.
3. Michael Dujovne spoke to the Residential Mortgage Group on the topic of July 2004 Changes to FAR/BAR Contract for Purchase and Sale, and to the Melbourne Area Association of Realtors on the topic of Real Estate Contracts.
4. Corporate table donor for MCC (Melbourne Central Catholic High School)'s annual Dinner Auction.
5. Sponsor for WFIT's 5k run/concert.
6. David J. Volk, has, on and off, served as an adjunct professor at Brevard Community College since 1998, teaching such courses as Introduction to Paralegalism, Debtor-Creditor Law, and Bankruptcy.
7. Supporter of local charities (this past year and in prior years) such as Melbourne Central Catholic High School, Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and School, Brevard Museum of Art & Science, Brevard County Lodges - Fraternal Order of Police, South Brevard Sharing Center, American Red Cross, Brevard County Bar Association?s "Christmas in January" at the Marlin?s Stadium to benefit children in need, and the Florida Bar Children?s Fund to name a few.
8. Firm members regularly attend seminars and events sponsored by the Chamber.
